Tender subject here, this follow-up issue, but that is why so many new industries have emerged such as telemarketing, nurture services, marketing automation, just to name a few.    So, I guess some good has come from salespeople making a conscious decision not to do their jobs and follow-up sales leads even when it is in their job description.  

By not doing a basic requirement of their job they have forced others to create jobs for other people.  When this happens the marketing budget for their company is inflated because the company has to pay someone to do what the reps are supposed to do.  Not to mention the lost sales.  When a sales representative doesn’t do his job in following up sales leads he is rightly blamed; when it continues, the sales manager is blamed and rightly so.
