Short, fast read, but don’t let that fool you.  Follow the map and you’ll be successful faster than being over-confident and launching into Marketo before you’re ready.
  1. Start Small: Use a pilot program, test, adjust, duplicate and expand.
  2. Use Marketo Sample Programs to start.
  3. Don’t skip the training, it will be time well spent in avoiding mistakes.
  4. Be patient with yourself (which is another way of saying don’t be over-confident and impatient. See item 3 above)
  5. Four Critical starting Points (Outlined as typical starting problems):
    1. Dirty Database and what to do about it.
    2. Walk before you run: start too fast and you’ll probably stumble (our word), start with a plan.
    3. The importance of lead scoring for salespeople.
    4. Sales follow-up or lack of it and what to do about it.
  6. Reporting, if you can’t measure it where are you?
