It's no mystery, there's not even a doubt that marketers generate revenue.  Of course, they manage the brand, create a marketing plan, research prospect needs, produce a demand generation machine, manage marketing operations (which some say has a larger budget than the IT department).  Yes, they drive the sales lead management process which coordinates dozens of stakeholders and agencies and content, not to mention salespeople and prospects. 

 And all of this means... that pound for pound they create more revenue than anyone in the company.
