SLMA Radio brings you the voices of industry leaders!

BrockRichard Brock, thought of by many as the "Father of CRM", pulled no punches in talking about failure of lead management in so many companies.

He says companies fail because marketing and sales teams are like dogs and cats, but they are learning they need each other.  The old way of nurturing is failing, he says.  Marketing must establish credibility and then this opens the door for salespeople to have the conversations.  Leads are like bananas he says, some are too green to eat right away, when they get old and brown it can't be eaten.   Timing is everything.   CRM today has to be more than record keeping.  Richard is outspoken as always.

On Veterans' Day in America, we are publishing a program aired last week hosted by Nate Teplow for MSP Radio one of our SLMA radio special programs. We think is worth repeating to SLMA Radio listeners.

Veteran’s Day is this week, and people across the nation are taking the time to honor and remember our veterans and all they do for our country. The military teaches our veterans a unique set of skills, both technical and interpersonal, and for this reason, many veterans often find jobs in IT when they return home from service.

On this week’s episode of MSPradio, we chat with Hire Heroes USA, a non-profit organization that helps veterans find jobs after returning home from service. Kelly Dempsey, Director of Communications and Corporate Relations, and Brian Stann, CEO, will tell us a little about the organization and the valuable skill set that our veterans possess as a result of serving our country. Tune in now to this special, Veteran’s Day episode of MSPradio.

Are Marketing Managers Victims of Learned Helplessness?

How do Marketing Managers breakout from being LMH Victims?

The condition called Learned Helplessnesswas discovered and popularized by psychologist Martin Seligman. He found that when he placed dogs into an inescapable environment and administered electric shocks the dog will eventually stop trying to escape. If the dog was placed into an environment where it could escape and given shocks it would not try to escape. It learned to give-up. This discovery has had a major impact on human psychology.
